Which is the best route to drive from Toronto to East coast Canada?

We are planning a one week roadtrip from Toronto to the east coast and would like to stop in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI we dont want to cross into the States and im wondering what the best route is to take? of course we're wanting a scenic route and would like to stop at all the attractions along the way.

Also does anyone have any suggestions where we should stay? what we should see?

Thanks alot!Which is the best route to drive from Toronto to East coast Canada?
401 East to Quebec then it turns into Autoroute 20 take that to Riviere-du-Loup, QC to the trans-canada hwy take that into New Brunswick then Trans-Canada Hwy 2 across NB to PEI then Trans-Canada Hwy 104 into NS.
401 east to Quebec, then your choice of the 20 east, by- passing Quebec city on the south shore of the St.Lawrence or take the 40 east and see Quebec. From Quebec city take the 20 east to Riviere du Loup where you again have a choice, take the 185 to Edmunston(TCH) or stay on the 20 east through Rimouski to Mount Joli where you head south into Campbellton, N.B. through the Madepia area, very scenic. In Campbellton, take the 11 south through Miramichi(in Bathurst take the shortcut, Highway 8 to Miramichi) or you can take the coastal route along #134. From Miramichi, 11 south to Shediac where you can connect to #15 to PEI, about an hours drive, or in Shediac head towards Moncton, 15km and meet up with the TCH to go to Nova Scotia. great trip...Attractions along the way are historic Quebec City, the Madepia area, great fishing, Magnetic Hill in Moncton, anywhere on PEI, lol, and from Moncton, it is about a 2 1/2 hour drive to Halifax, Peggy's Cove are or a 6 hour drive into Cape Breton and the Cabot Trail, again, very scenic.Which is the best route to drive from Toronto to East coast Canada?
You are going to do a lot of driving.

We usually take the 401 to Montreal, cross the St Lawrence then overnight in Trois Rivieres. Go around Quebec city, cross into New Brunswick, down through Edmundston, to Fredrickton, then Monkton and across to PEI. You will have to make a detour to see Nova Scotia.

It's 1,700 km, about a thousand miles one way, and 鈥?about 18 hours each way on the road.

There's a lot to see but in a week you won't have much time to sightsee. Have you considered flying in to Halifax, Nova Scotia and driving from there?
