Can anyone give me an approximate average cost on utilities for a 3-4 bedroom home in Toronto? Heat, electricity, water. I'm thinking of buying a home and would like some of these additional numbers in mind when looking.What are the average utility costs for a home in Toronto?
Ask your realtor to request past ulitilty bills on houses that you are interested in. That will be the most accurate information.
However: 100 year old 5 bedroom house, has some improvements, needs more, lived in by 4 adults.
Hydro - around 100-120 per month
Gas heat and hot water - average 250 per month
Water and sewage - about 60 per month
We can improve on the gas bill a bit, but not much on the others.
