What area in toronto would be good for a single mom?

I am wanting to move there within the next year. I am 22 and my son is almost 2. What part of toronto is the safest?What area in toronto would be good for a single mom?
Nice areas for a single mother would be Riverdale, Cabbagetown, The St. Lawrence Market district, High Park, some areas in East York, Yonge and Sheppard. A lot depends on whether or not you drive or rely on TTC and where your work is.
Toronto is generally a really safe city.

I would stick to somewhere either downtown or close to the subway.



Suburban areas and east part of downtown can be a bit iffy sometimes.
