I'm about to move to a town near toronto called Markham
Is there a site for Canada that searches for community colleges or something? How hard is it to find work as a young adult? Do I need to drive a care everywhere? How is life in Toronto like for a young adult?
There are many communtiy Colleges around Markham. They mgiht not be in teh city, but there are many in Pickering, Toronto, Scarbrough, Brampton, MIssissuga. All of which are 30 mins-1 hour away from Markham.
Its not hard at all to find work. You must apply now before the summer and a lot of students work at grocery stores, mcdonalds, best buy Etc. BUT APPLY NOW!!!!
You DO NOT need a car. By the time you pay insurance, repairs, drivers test etc it will cost you thousands. Living in Markham might be difficult to access stores depending on where you live. However it is as easy as riding your bike to the mall or store.
If you dont hvae a bike, you can take York region Transit which takes you all around York Region. However, it is 3 bucks per trip and the wait times can be up to 30 mins. No matter, just be patient and buy a GTA pass (greater toronto area pass). This pass allows you to take public transit witinh the GTA whcih is brampton, markham, toronto, vaughn, mississauga Etc. You can get to Toronto using VIVA which is the fastest way or GO TransitHow is life in Toronto like for a young adult?
You can take Viva or Yrt. There is Sheridan college in Markham near Woodbine. Centennial college and Geroge Brown are downtown. It is not hard to find work at all. If you work downtown, then you can take the GO train!
There are upscale apartments in Markham now:) Find friends who'll share their car if you want to somewhere on the weekend
