Hi, I鈥檓 planning on taking the train from Halifax to Toronto on Sunday to see my relatives. I already have my ticket and everything all I need to know is an estimate on how long the ride will be thank you for your help! How long would it take to get to Toronto from Halifax Via Rail?
Well, the negotiators were meeting again today, so maybe the strike won't be very long. But they may not be running trains immediately upon settlement, because they'll have to get the crews on duty and get the food on the trains and so on.
That being said, if you were to board a train in Halifax on a Sunday around noon, you'd arrive in Montreal Monday morning. You could then catch a mid-morning train to Toronto which would get you there at 3:30 pm.
I'm curious about what kind of ticket you have that doesn't have all these times printed on it.
Um, read the headlines. VIA Rail is on strike and NONE of the passenger trains are moving therefore it would take you quite a while to get from Halifax to Toronto by VIA Rail. How long would it take to get to Toronto from Halifax Via Rail?
strike dude live in Toronto
you'll be a very looooooonnnnnnng time - VIA is out on strike starting today.
You can get a refund. Check out the cost of a flight - Porter Air maybe if they fly from Halifax.
I see you have been told about the strike. When it is over and if you decide to try going, get a berth. I did the 'sit up all night' routine once and I absolutely do not recommend it. It is literally as well as figuratively, a pain in the neck.
