What do you think will happen to Toronto when Rob Ford becomes mayor next month?

Will it be the end of the city? I mean we gave Harper 4 years in Ottawa and Canada is pretty much entering its last days and the Canadian ecnomy is weak and about to collapse while in the USA Obama is turning things around.

Honestly? Nothing. His plans aren't really well-developed plans and much of council isn't on his side.It will he a dysfunctional era of Toronto's history, much like the Lastman years, but I doubt he's as openly destructive as he seems.



But it's better to not ask me, I'm planning to move back to Vancouver if he wins.

First off, I think you need to re-evaluate your knowledge of economics. Canada's economy is actually doing pretty well right now, better than most of the G8 or G20 countries and didn't have nearly as bad a crash as most other world economies. The Obama administration is still working through their difficulties even after throwing trillions of dollars at the problem.



However, the idea of Ford running Toronto makes me glad I don't live there anymore. If he actually follows through on his sometimes ridiculous ideas, that city is in deep, deep trouble -- even worse than back in the Mayor Mel days.
Is this sarcasm cause if not your just short of insane. What has Rob Ford said that he was going to do that would destroy a city? I'm not a big fan of Harper either but he has not been that bad, especially compared to George W. Your Left wing antics will be never be taken seriously by the average person who is actually educated on these issues.
Toronto will do what Toronto always does - survive, thrive and carry on. It takes more than one yokel at the helm to make this city crumble. We've had others before and Ford won't be the last.
